Frequently Asked Questions

Any Questions?

  • What age groups can participate in YFL events?

YFL events are designed for all ages! We welcome grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, and kids of all ages to join us for a fun, family-friendly fishing experience. Whether it's a child's first catch or a shared family tradition, our events offer something for everyone.

  • Do I need to bring my own fishing gear?

No, you don’t need to bring your own gear. YFL provides free access to fishing rods, bait, and tackle. We also have a rod repair station to help with any gear issues during the event. All you need to bring is your enthusiasm and readiness to enjoy a day by the water!

  • How can students earn Student Service Learning (SSL) hours at YFL events?

We are currently in the process of requesting formal approval to provide SSL hours for student volunteers. Students can earn SSL hours by helping with event setup, registration, assisting younger participants, or contributing to environmental stewardship activities. We are also exploring pre-event opportunities for students to earn hours, such as promoting the event or supporting our preparation efforts. Contact us to learn more about available opportunities!
